I’m not screenshotting this yet. The show is great; the narrator in the beginning of every episode is pretty handsome.

And after watching the first four episodes I guess I’d say it’s one of the masterpieces of the year.

Apparently, it’s 12 episodes long (or so it’s expected to be), and judging by the first arc, No Longer Human,  2 more novels are animated in the remaining 8 episodes. The production quality is not outstanding, but still really solid and pleasing.

Absolutely recommended.

Armed Librarians: The Book of Bantorra.

Looked like emo shit at first, getting to become kind of nice, though gloomy and dark, series. Character designs suck, though, for almost everyone (except some guys and two – just two – girls named Noloty Whateveritwas and Hamyuts Meseta).

Setting: steampunk. Well, not exactly; and we’ve got magic mixed in. There are airplanes, too, and gods lurk somewhere out there as well.

The opposing sides are the Library of Bantorra, which stores all books (with books being something extracted from people when they die – those books contain a person’s complete lifetime records), and the Church of Drowning in God’s Grace (a bunch of fanatics whose ultimate goal is to reach some kind of paradise, for which they have to indulge in every desire they’ve got).

And of course, there are superpowers in action, too.

Question number one! Why is this post dated “November 01st, 2009″ and not “October 31st”? Choose the right answer!

  1. Someone is extremely lazy.
  2. The moon phase wasn’t as tsukuyomi as it should have been – until today.
  3. This ain’t a review.

You sure?.. Well then, let’s proceed!

On to the next question! Why is Battler so emotional about everything and why is Beatrice such a bitch?

  1. Ryuukishi07 said so, it must be true.
  2. There is no Umineko anime.
  3. Battler has a sister complex and there are no chances for him to ever get over it.

Really? Never thought so.

I was really going to post stuff. Seriously. I planned to post about other new series, and include a lot of screenshots, but I seriously don’t really know what to write about.

Almost nothing caught my attention (well, except, probably, kimi ni todoke, which is really nice but I can’t manage to get striking screenshots).

However, the decisive battle against my laziness will be held tomorrow, and should the victor of that round be yours truly, this site will be blessed with some more crappy reviews.

"Private Kobato!" "Yessir!" "Commence the World Domination mission!"

(Please excuse the extremely bad quality of the screenshots, it’s dictated by the raw used.)

Produced by CLAMP, Madhouse and NHK, this is an adaptation of a manga series of the same title; it also references Wish. Hanato Kobato, the main character, is voiced by Sengoku Nadeko (I mean, Hanazawa Kana). We’re also getting Saitou Chiwa (Senjougahara Hitagi) who will be responsible for Kohaku’s voice.

And now for the discharge.

To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjihou. A certain TV animation’s spin-off series. Totally beating the original in terms of: story; action; episode planning; production quality; making sense; main characters; opening theme; etc; etc.

"Yay!"

This series is a bit above average. Nothing really bright about the story yet; however I’ll be watching it. They totally bought me by having Lisa in the team. Like Touka said once, “You can’t resist the Koromo”.

The reported offender.

This show is about Mizuno.

I mean, it’s about Junpei’s troubles with cats. But it’s actually about Mizuno. Borrowing Aka-chan’s words, Junpei is “the actual main character’s sidekick who’s there for comic relief”. At least I think so. Mizuno is cute. The first episode is pretty. And cute. Cats are cute, too. Even Nyamsas. Read the rest of this entry »

IT'S A LIE

This series doesn’t seem like having a huge budget, and what’s more, out of the five main characters’ voice actors, only Kondo Takashi have more than 2 roles in his portfolio. For everyone else it’s the first series to work with (with another exception of Saitou Yuka, who also voices Lucifer in Umineko).

Surprisingly enough, it’s a success. Read the rest of this entry »
